New waterfall published: Neitoköngäs in the Korouoma CanyonPublished: 12.08.2018
We have today published our second completely new waterfall-sight for this year.
The waterfall is called Neitoköngäs, and it is one of the several small-scale cascades in the Korouoma Canyon. The fall has a drop height of about 8 metres and it flows down the Canyon's northeastern cliff.
Getting to the fall today, however, is easier said than done. Since June 2018 the official hiking trail has been moved to the western side of the Korojoki River, which means that it takes a lot of effort to get to this waterfall in a rough terrain.
But if you are in a good physical condition, Neitoköngäs is most definitely worth the effort. It is a rarely beautiful sight of flowing water in the middle of the rugged wilderness.
